Oh so this is the comic lichgem was talking about.  I really like it.  And definitely read through the hashtags someone put here, because they’re worth reading.  This is not just some anti-SJ bullshit, this is real things that happen here.

It is from an anti-SJ bullshit source, though. plebcomics makes exclusively anti-SJ comics, with such other classics as

“Feminists and SJWs hate male SA survivors”,

“Feminists and SJWs think discrimination is a barbershop charging more for women’s haircuts than men’s”,

“Anita Sarkeesian is a delusional ranting con-artist defended by rabid, ranting white night fanboy SJWs”,

and the standard “SJ people with weird made-up identities are hostile and irrational toward REAL oppressed people, like cis gays”

as well as targeted comics of specific bloggers made with no other purpose than to mischaracterize and harass them.

So I get the point that you’re making, but it’s important to articulate that point in the context of an actual nuanced discussion and not piggybacking off of “well, this vicious 4channer troll made up this comic to mock and portray the entire essence of “Social Justice” as bombastic and harmful, but they do have a point if you remove all source context, rotate it 180 degrees and ignore the obvious malice at the core of it’s creation”.

It’s important to distance real conversations about these things from malicious troll-types, lest they try to claim some validity in their views and actions by association. Believe me, I have my own bones to pick with “SJ” as it exists on tumblr, but I’m not going to talk about that within a mile of self-proclaimed anti-SJ/”Real Justice”

That’s too bad, I actually liked the comic because it depicts an actual experience that people have when they start reading about privilege.  But I want nothing more to do with anti-SJ bullshit than I want to do with SJ bullshit.  (Of course, I end up reblogging a fair bit of both, because it’s hard to find stuff that’s neither.  Somehow it’s seen as worse to reblog anti-SJ than it is to reblog SJ, even when the SJ is just as bad.)
