 Spock's World

dduane:

askfirstofficerspock:

I do not often suggest that you read any of the Star Trek novels, as they are not canon, but Spock’s World is listed on Memory Alpha as well as Memory Beta, which gives it quite a bit more weight to us canon-whores.

The historical chapters are amazing, and you can learn a great deal about the planet and its people—as well as some wonderful moments between the triumvirate and the rest of the crew.

It was written by dianeduane, and it is a treasure. I’m rereading it now for the first time since I bought it when it first came out in 1988, and I think I’m appreciating it a great deal more now than I did then.

Thanks for the nice note! (PS: my real tumblr is at http://dduane.tumblr.com… the other one’s just a placeholder.)

Amazing book.  I think I still have my original copy, in which my mother wrote something like “For my very logical daughter on her eighth birthday.”  I never dreamed I’d be interacting with the author online in any capacity, or that the amazing Feline Wizards books (my favorite dduane books, even Young Wizards come second, because cats) would be written by the same person.
