This is a CHILTEPINE sprout! If you know what a chiltepine is you will know why it’s a very exciting thing to have a sprout from seed. These seeds were planted about 3.5 weeks ago. I had almost given up on them. I read that they can take more than a month to sprout and then survival is really touch and go.
This poor guy sprouted with the seed pod up, so hopefully that doesn’t mean it’s doomed already. This was Sunday (3/10)
This morning I was able to get the seed pod off of the seedling gently, and this afternoon another sprout can be seen emerging.
