My mom has bronchiestasis from tuberculosis. She gets pneumonia all the time and fears the day when she might get an antibiotic resistant illness. My brother and I got vaccinated against tb to prevent it and didn’t get sick. Vaccines are important.

I get aspiration pneumonia a lot from the combination of gastroparesis and bronchiectasis.  And I live in terror of the day the antibiotics brew me up a superbug.  I get aspiration pneumonia less than I did before the feeding tube, but I still get it a few times a year.  I just got over my last bout.  And I just dread the time they’ll tell me the antibiotics don’t work.
