dduane: Seeds of the pomegranate (Punica granatum). See also: “The next time you’re in the houses of Hades, do not bite the pomegranate. If you want to eat a piece of fruit out of hand, ask for a peach or something.” Oh, and this. I wish I could afford a necklace like that.  I will have to hunt for more affordable pomegranate jewelry (but the more affordable stuff is not this gorgeous).  I want something to symbolize my time spent in delirium, and to me the pomegranate seed does that, because I always feel, after a long spell of delirium, like I am Persephone unable to fully leave the underworld because of the pomegranate seeds.  I’ve described it as being one pomegranate seed away from the world.  It’s a powerful feeling of disconnectedness and somehow having something to commemorate it would make me feel better.  Making things tangible in object form usually makes me feel better in general.
