Oh so you’re not the person who wrote the nasty post, that’s good to know. I don’t really see ‘auras’, at least I’d never call them that because that has all kinds of connotations. I think it’s a kind of synesthesia, like colored-personality synesthesia, which is already known about. Or a combination of synesthesia and ‘sensing’ (as in Donna Williams’s book Autism and Sensing: The Unlost Instinct), which to me is like… a cognitive style, that relies heavily on sensory pattern and feel and less on ideas and concepts.
Some asshole reblogged my response to you and tagged it with things like #pagan and #this isn’t synesthesia and #you just want to be special.
And I do agree there’s got to be a rational explanation for what I perceive, I just don’t spend a lot of time looking into it. What I perceive gives me information about the world, and that’s really all I personally need to know about it, although knowing how it works would be fascinating.

maikisan said: I think a lot of people perceive “creepyness” or “manipulativeness” in people: there are certain body language and voice language traits that go along with it. I can see someone with synesthesia interpreting subconscious queues visually. Makes sense.
