I do not get why some people have such trouble understanding that trying to murder a child is a cruel, calculated action.  It is not a “desperate choice.”  It is not a panicked “last resort.”  If you meticulously plan out a murder and try to act on those plans, that is calculated and cruel and wrong and you know exactly what you’re doing.
