I’ve started a poetry blog.

It’s for both new and old poems.  Generally they’re ones I see at least some merit in, although the quality varies a lot.  Surprisingly, I’m actually liking most of the poems I wrote recently.  Surprising because normally I write a lot of things I don’t like before I come up with something I do.  This seems more like the opposite, I write a bunch I like, and then one I feel “meh” about.

Anyway here’s the URL:

Anything I post here, I’ll be posting there, pretty much, unless I have reason not to.  I feel really good about what I have up there so far, but I’m still in the process of sifting through literally hundreds of poems to find the ones I actually like.  (I write poetry in quantity at times, and then I go through it to see which ones have quality enough that I like them, and which ones could be revised into something I like.  It’s like that thing people were passing around about not being afraid to fail.  If I was afraid of writing bad poetry I’d never get any good poetry.)

It’s also for particularly poetic prose and prose poetry and songs I’ve written.

If anyone sees something I have written that isn’t on my poetry blog and they think should be, please let me know.  I haven’t tagged all my poetry properly, so it’s hard to go through my archives and find it all.  I’ve got everything I tagged, though, on this and some of my other tumblr accounts.

I had lots of reasons for making it Wordpress rather than tumblr, but one of the big ones is the ease for people to leave comments if they like something or have feelings or thoughts sparked by it.  I’d like to have conversations about what I write, when conversations are what other people want too.
