In other news, water still wet, bears still shit in woods.

No one enjoys this kind of stress or seeks it out or thinks it’s good.

We who feel stressed like this (usually due to sensory overwhelming or anxiety or an abundance of other stressors in life because stress is a magnifier for other stress, or ALL OF THEM AT ONCE AND MORE)

“Don’t sweat the small stuff” is really fucking useless advice, because it doesn’t ever come with instructions on HOW to not sweat the small stuff.

It’s basically “Stop having that emotion. That’s a bad emotion. That emotion hurts you. Just stop.”

Meh I already know stress can kill me.  I have adrenal insufficiency.  That article is all about how to lower your cortisol levels, when what I need is to raise mine.  (Which stress actually doesn’t help with.  It just depletes it so that I can’t make more and go into adrenal crisis.)  But it’s very weird having a disease where stress can kill you so directly.  I actually had an anxiety attack the other day for the first time in years, and the thought that “this anxiety attack could actually kill me, for real” did not help me calm down.
