➸ Killed While Cosplaying? Black Man Killed By Police In Utah Was Reportedly Carrying A Toy Sword

Cops say 22-year-old Darrien Hunt was lunging toward them with a sword when they shot him. Some witnesses say he was running away, and that the sword was a toy.

**ATTN COSPLAYERS OF COLOR** Have you ever worried about “looking dangerous” in costumes with prop weapons because of racial standards? Have you had any altercations with law enforcement while in costume? The above story seems to be yet another tragedy in the long list of excessive force used against black men and boys, and also seems to be the first dealing with the art of cosplay.
