Several times in my worst adrenal/myasthenia crises, I would wish I was lying down further, only to find that I was already lying flat and couldn’t do a damn thing more about the situation. That was usually when Death started hanging around, come to think of it:

This is also the sort of situation I mean when I talk about having negative spoons. It doesn’t mean being really tired, it doesn’t even mean being unable to keep up because you’re always falling behind. It means that you’re so out of spoons that you could die. Because spoons are needed for pumping blood and other essential functions. Negative spoons are when you start losing the spoons necessary to carry out those functions.
