I have a pet banana slug right now. I got him to show to the kids in my unit at day camp, and let them vote on a name. They chose ‘Bob,’ but I have recently renamed him ‘Sir Sluggy’ because he seems very dignified.
Banana slugs make surprisingly good pets, and don’t require a lot of care (you just have to mist them with dechlorinated water a couple times a day and give them lots of dandelion greens and give them a decent sized space to inhabit).

hi there!  my name is alexandria.  i’m late with these guys, but it’s fitting for such a slow species.  i have a special spot in my heart for banana slugs, because they’re my school mascot!  and their reproduction is just wild; i included a few of my favorite slug luv facts alongside this illustration of two getting ready to get it on.  enjoy!

(sorry for the camera quality, i’m on vacation without a scanner)

another project i’ve done about strange reproduction: short-beaked echidna
