When I saw this decal set I had to get it. They’re too obviously Feline Wizards. And now they’re on my wall. I still have to finish the other decals but that will be trickier because it requires standing on the bed which I refuse to do without help anymore due to the obvious and still highly painful rib injury.

Brown painted toenails + cat. I find that painted toenails stay painted longer than painted fingernails and are less of a nuisance. Um.. Ignore the webbing on a couple of the toes.

Since I’ve had bad luck with electronics lately I’ve bought some protective cases. This one is for my laptop and came with a little owl to dangle off it. It’s fake leather but it looks and feels very nice.

appreciate brown eyes more bc the people with brown eyes are grown up forcing to believe fuckin blue and green and grey are beautiful and either detest or get incredibly happy when someone compliments their eye color stop letting this happen
there are people with brown eyes reblogging this and theyre talking about still being sad with their eye color and this is exactly why we need hype about brown eyes
I was just talking to a staff person who thought her brown hair and brown eyes were “boring”.
I was telling her how brown eyes can have a lot of depth to them, that they’re not worse than any other eye color.
People usually think my eyes are brown. They’re actually a very dark green with brown centers. But nobody ever sees that unless they get up close and look. (Whenever we did eye color genetics in school, the teacher would just pretend I didn’t exist.)
She said her sister’s are the opposite, brown with green centers.
Sometimes I actually wish I had dark brown eyes, instead of half-assedly brown eyes. Other times I wish I had green eyes instead of half-assedly green eyes.
Our conversation started because she was admiring my cat’s pale green eyes and saying she wanted eyes that color instead of brown.
But brown eyes are beautiful, I wish more people knew that. Especially people with brown eyes. Brown is actually my favorite color.

Earthstar mushroom (Astraeus hygrometricus), on the Lower Oldham Trail in the Coconino National Forest, Arizona.
This mushroom has an ectomycorrhizal association with the ponderosa pines it grows near, extracting nutrients from soil that benefit the trees, and obtaining carbohydrates from the pines’ roots to support its own growth. The mushroom is also a food source for Abert’s squirrels, which aid in distributing the mushrooms at the base of the pines in which they live, in a lovely and complicated web of mutual interaction.

Brown. Especially brown with blue, or brown with yellow. But lots of different shades of brown.

Mookaite Jasper
Carnarvon Basin, Western Australiayellow yellow yellow yellow yellow!
At first I thought this was a NSFW picture and was trying to scroll past it really fast. Pleasantly surprised that it’s just a rock, and that’s not someone’s butt or cleavage on it. (And please no geology-related cleavage jokes.)

My parents also sent this poncho which really brings back memories. I think it belonged to my mother. And I don’t think I’ve actually seen it worn since I was maybe three years old. It is knit and looks like it will be great as the weather gets colder.
I love things that are frozen in time as far as my memory goes, because they’re sort of a portal back to that moment in time.

I’ve been told that one of my weird talents is my ability to put together clothes that shouldn’t go together, and make them work. This may be one of those times.
I went back to Goodwill, this time looking for dad shirts in solid colors, or as close to solid as I could get them. The point was to have shirts I could wear with patterned skirts. So I found this light blue button-down shirt in the men’s department. I combined it with a brown skirt with light blue checks, and a border that has sort of flower-shaped things. And suspenders, of course. And the necklace I’ve been wearing lately, with the redwoods in it. At Goodwill I also found brown lace tights, and I never wear tights but they seemed like they’d work perfect with this so I wore them. And then I wore the super-comfortable brown suede boots I got at Goodwill last time.
I am also happy whenever I can come up with an outfit that combines elements of what other people would consider more than one ‘gender presentation’, because I really don’t like when people consider the aesthetics of the clothing I wear a “gender presentation” instead of just “clothes I like”. So when I can mix elements of “masculine” and “feminine” it makes me happy because I’m not doing what they expect.
And yes those are nasty bruises on my arms, from infiltrated and blown IVs many times over at the hospital. I was two inches from needing a PICC line by the time I left. And I am going to get down and beg on bended knee for my doctor to allow me to have a port, if I have to. Also the thing hanging off one of my suspenders is a g-tube drainage bag, because where else can I put it?
